We visited 47 gyms across our first research markets before building CHEQFIT — not as customers, but as researchers with clipboards and bad experiences. What we found was consistent: misleading photographs, hidden joining fees, 12-month contracts with no exit, and trainers who disappeared after week one.
But we also found something else: gym owners who were struggling just as much. No reliable software. No way to generate qualified leads. No operations support. No community of peers to learn from. The same Indian fitness industry that was failing members was also failing the people running gyms.
CHEQFIT started in a Noida apartment in early 2026 with a simple belief: if gyms are better supported, members get better experiences. So we built both sides — a discovery and membership platform for members, and a complete growth ecosystem for gym owners. Today, 14 gyms use CHEQFIT's software, leads, and support to run and grow their businesses.
